NOTICE: CardinalCommerce Certificate Update

CardinalCommerce will be updating its Certificates as part of an ongoing effort to maintain our website security and business continuity.

Why is this happening?
Google Chrome plans to deprecate Chrome’s trust in the Symantec certificate authority which includes all Symantec owned brands: Thawte, VeriSign, Equifax, GeoTrust, and RapidSSL on October 16, 2018. Currently if customers are using a SSL/TLS certificate from Symantec that was issued before June 1, 2016 they will no longer continue to function after this date.

When is this happening?
As of Wednesday September 5th at 10 AM, Cardinal replaced the certificate in our Centinel test environment, customers now have the ability to validate they can support the new DigiCert certificate. If you are unable to trust the new certificate, you will receive a handshake error or certificate exception message when trying to connect to Cardinal.

The certificate will be updated in our production environment on Monday, October 8th.

What do I need to do?
Customers are encouraged to work with their teams to ensure they can support the new certificate. Cardinal will be using the certificates listed below:

DigiCert Global Root CA - https://dl.cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertGlobalRootCA.crt
DigiCert SHA2 Secure Server CA - https://dl.cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.crt
Thawte RSA 2018 CA - https://dl.cacerts.digicert.com/ThawteRSACA2018.crt

As always, the Cardinal Customer Support team is ready and willing to answer any questions you may have.
